These are a few of the obstacles that can block you from transforming your life from being controlled by PTSD to one of living your life to the fullest.

    What is PTSD?

You may be saying to yourself, “I have some of those problems but I haven’t been in a war,” You don’t have to go to war to have PTSD. There are many things that happen in your life that can cause you to have PTSD. Yes, going to war or other types of military violence is one way of developing PTSD. You may have experienced a bad accident, a disaster, been physically abused or sexually abused, witnessed violence, physical or sexual abuse, been taken away from your parents, and the list goes on. Some people will go through these situations and after the initial shock wears off they are able to accept the situation was part of life and don’t suffer any ill effects. You may be not be one of those people. Well, you aren’t alone.

More and more people are seeking help through PTSD treatment. There are several types of therapy available for PTSD. Several of them have been researched extensively and are known to be effective.

You can be the You YOU want to be.

PTSD counseling can help you on that journey. I specialize in PTSD treatment in Texas online. I am a PTSD counselor here to help you heal from the past. I understand the emotional pain trauma has caused. I am here to help you recover from what you have been through.

Trauma or traumas suck the life from you. It can be hard to ask for help especially if you feel others have let you down in the past. It takes courage to reach out and say, “I’m not putting up with this anymore!” Whoever or whatever has haunted you all these years is not going to have power over you any longer. I am here to help you fight back. It is possible to feel empowered and strong. It is possible to stamp your feet and say “get lost” to all those old thoughts.

What are you going to be getting into?

You are going to meet with me from the comfort of your own home.  You are going to be free to share what is on your heart in any way you want. I won’t judge you. You are going to be safe and accepted regardless of sexual, gender, cultural or spiritual orientation.

I will be partnering with you to help you transform from being a person with PTSD to a person who has experienced traumas in the past but is now living a full,

As time goes on, your PTSD will calm down. You will be able to state you experienced a trauma without having any emotional reaction

You may be saying that this all sounds pretty good-- That it would be good to go through PTSD counseling, that you could find healing, but you still have some questions or concerns…

You may be worried that you will have to relive the traumatic event all over again. My first priority is your safety during a session. I have specialized training in guiding your through a step-by-step process to address your distress of PTSD. This is not PTSD counseling where you come in and just repeat the same story. We will partner together to investigate the impact of one particularly intense trauma had on your life and how that has affected your life since that time. There may be intense feelings at the beginning. As you begin to transform your life, you can see the healing take place.

It is important that you choose a therapist that you feel comfortable with so you can build a therapeutic relationship. Therapy sessions are a time of trying out new ways of thinking and acting. As you begin to transform your life, you may find that your personal relationships improve. You will have a better way of thinking about situations and will have new communication skills.

You may be avoiding going into PTSD counseling because you are afraid you will get worse and never get better. You are afraid to give up the way you have been thinking because the old way is what you know. Making change is scary. If it’s been more than 3 months after the trauma and you are still struggling, you can benefit from treatment. PTSD treatment is for veterans, military personnel, military families and the general public. I will partner with you and go along with you step-by-step in the process. I’m there to partner with you.

For most people as the weight of the trauma lifts off of them, the lighter they feel. They feel stronger. They are able to feel secure in their relationships. They feel empowered.
